Have you heard? The Rolling Stones are going on tour again!
Remind me again, how old is Mick Jagger?
The answer is 80 years old.
And he is not the only one in the band who has passed the 80-year-old marker.
I am not sure about you, but growing up I could not imagine any rock band still performing when the band members were octogenarians!
So tickets are on sale now for a series of 16 concerts across the USA this summer.
Here is the interesting part, do you know who is sponsoring the Stone’s tour?
None other than the AARP! (American Association of Retired Persons).
The Stones are certainly marketing-savvy on this one.
An often (usually) overlooked marketing strategy for a small business, specifically a fitness business in our case, is a partnership.
A partnership provides unique and powerful marketing results for both parties.
Let’s take the Stones for example. Because of their partnership with the AARP, they have access to the AARP’s mailing lists and vice versa.
This is just the beginning as there are countless other ways for both organizations to work together for their mutual benefit.
What business in your community could you partner with that would be of mutual benefit to each of you?
Partnerships can be small or big, there is no perfect formula. That being said, each party in the partnership should have a reasonable alignment of purpose, and be mutually beneficial to each business.
Make a list of possible business partnerships in your community along with a quick brainstorming list of ideas and go have a cup of coffee with your prospects. Let the ideas flow and have fun with the conversation.
These meetings are always fun!
