The phone rang on Father’s Day. It was one of my sons calling from Outer Mongolia.
Outer Mongolia!
At the end of the conversation as I hung the phone up, I felt so special that he made sure we connected despite the obvious challenges.
He has worked in Istanbul for the last 6 years and travels extensively during his time off. Living his dream daily.
He was taught to follow his dreams and passions from a very early age. The lessons were reinforced continually as he matured. He learned well and has stayed true to what he wants out of life throughout the years.
As his Dad, my heart swells with pride and admiration. Few people are actually living the life they truly want.
I see it all the time. You see it all the time. In fact, you might not be living your life exactly the way you would like to live it.
Why not?
Why not live life on your terms, doing what you really want to do day in and day out?
Most people in the fitness industry have got it partially right. They are doing what they want as a profession, but they are captive to their business.
- They can’t walk away for several weeks and have the business grow in their absence.
- They believe no one can coach as well as they do.
- They don’t know how to really make a decent living in the fitness industry, and they struggle financially.
- Their business depends on them and they have a job, not a business.
The solution to making your business a business instead of an expensive hobby that controls your time and finances is education. Specifically, self-education.
Figure out what needs shoring up (you already know in your heart) and tackle these issues like you would your favorite workout.
Need a place to start? Talk to someone who has already done it. Talk to several people like this. What you need to do will become obvious. Take action and you will immediately feel better, hopeful and excited.
