How The Pros Grow

As I travel around, I visit a lot of gyms and fitness centers.

Back in December, I visited a local gym that I was considering joining. It is one of those very popular chains of franchises.

I took a trial class and enjoyed the experience, but I did not join the program.

I was impressed with their follow up and have written about it on several occasions in these emails. 

I decided to not join the gym and let them know that several months ago. The calls and follow up texts stopped – until yesterday when I got another call.

Apparently, I am still on their list which is impressive!

I have always believed and built my business around the belief that there are only two kinds of people, customers, and potential customers.

This organization has it right. They do almost no traditional advertising and their explosive growth is driven by their through marketing and personalized follow through.

Over the course of the last nine months, they have contacted me no less than 30 times.

All of the contacts with me were either calls or texts. All were personal and very professional. The callers (salespeople) were obviously working from scripts, but there were well trained in being flexible and friendly.

Most gyms don’t have a follow-up program like this. Most gyms don’t grow like this.

Setting up a thorough follow up program and executing the program on a daily basis is not hard – it’s just a decision. A decision that will change your business life.
