I just read an email where a business consultant recommended that business owners take the month of December off and relax. Seriously?
This would work IF your business is functioning as a turn-key operation and ALL your systems have been proven to grow your business in your absence.
But, for most business this is the time to make your biggest moves. Namely getting ready to take advantage of the renewed interest in fitness coming our way in a few short days.
Speaking of that, I want to expand on the idea of recognizing your customers during the holiday season. One year I commissioned an artist to create a unique card for my customers.
I really liked what she came up with and so did my clients and members.
It did not cost much and it was a lot of fun for everyone.
But if time is an issue, or you want to stand out even more, there is an even better option for the fitness business owner.
To stand out even more you can send a card between Christmas and New Year’s Day! A Happy New Year’s card!
There are several advantages to this:
- Timing: Your card will stand out because it is not part of the holiday mail.
- Relevancy: A card with the theme of fitness and New Year’s resolutions will really connect with everyone.
- Appreciation: People will respect and like your creativity.
- Humor: With the right message, people will laugh and share the card with their friends, who are also thinking about fitness.
- Market Advantage: Your competition is not doing this.
Be careful to make sure your message is not too salesy. Stick to humor and create a subtle message that you have the solution to what they really want.
Remember, you only get results it you take immediate action on your ideas!
