Whenever I add a material thing to my life, I get rid of at least one other thing.
I have made a conscious decision to live that way as much as possible. I am never quite there, so it’s a never ending-process.
The hardest things to let go are the reminders of memories. It’s usually something small, like a card, a note, a picture that always brings a smile to my face.
In the early days of the World Ironman Triathlon Championship in Kona Hawaii, the race director would send each of the competitors a birthday card on our birthday. She personally signed each card, making it very special.
As a CrossFit Affiliate, CrossFit HQ sent me a Christmas card each year. I loved getting and opening the cards. I felt connected to the HQ team.
I still have all those cards.
