There is no question, your current members are your best marketing asset.
I am always amazed by how ineffectively this resource is used. Consider what energy you would have in your business if every one of your members was empowered and incentivized to share their stories with their friends and family.
That can happen right now. Literally today.
First, create a discount program as I outlined here. It’s important to set the program up exactly as described here. Any deviations will spell disaster.
The fastest, easiest way to promote the program is to create a simple FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) sheet to be distributed to your membership, posted on your website, posted in your restrooms, posted on the front door and mentioned in your newsletters.
This all sounds good, but you’re not sure when you can find the time to create the FAQ? Today is your lucky day! All you need to do is answer the questions below, print out the FAQ and distribute it.
- What is the member referral campaign?
- Can I refer more than one friend?
- When I refer a friend when do they receive their reduced rate?
- When my friend joins, when do I receive my discount?
- How long is the reduced rate valid?
- Will the member referral rate ever increase?
- Who is eligible to participate?
- Is there anyone not eligible to participate in this campaign?
- What happens if a member leaves during the campaign?
- How soon after my friend joins can they participate in the classes and programs?
Behind the scenes, you need to train your clerical staff if you have them, and/or set up your billing software to make this transition seamless.
It’s all really that simple.
Remember that your success will depend on getting your campaign started and starting means getting the word out through your promotion channels.
