Not gonna lie. There are times I struggle when it comes to writing these emails.
I know the struggle comes from inside me, an internal ego thing. I desperately want to share information because I know it can change my reader’s life. But I have to write in such a way that people “get it” and take action, at least that’s what my mind tells me.
This is not one of those times of struggle. This information is powerful and proven many times over. Yet few people will take action on it. Yet I know this info will nudge the needle a little more to the right for someone – YOU?
Consider two scenarios.
Scenario #1
A “marketing company” (hereafter referred to as the “company” because adding marketing to their description is a disservice to the industry) approaches you with a plan. They will get you 200 new members. They will do all the marketing. The membership deal is 90 days for $99 dollars for new people.
The company collects the fees and sends you checks for the agreed-upon percentage. Let’s say 50%. You end up with $49.5 for each new member. 200 new members equal $19,800. Your share is $9,900.
With your money, you need to provide programs for 200 people for 12 weeks each. That’s $49.50 divided by 12 weeks. You have $4.13 per week to provide services for these people.
Your expenses increase dramatically with instructors, trainers, custodial, clerical and support staff. Add wear and tear on your building and equipment, parking issues, and increasing supplies and equipment costs.
Of course, the company has you convinced that you can up-sell these new members and make much more money. However, these people are bargain hunters. They’re headed to the next bargain.
Scenario #2
For sake of argument, you are charging a membership fee of $49.95 per month.
You create a high-end program. It’s not for everyone. It’s a proven fact that 10% of your current members are interested in, and will pay for, a premium-priced high-end program. You have 300 current members, and therefore 30 who are interested in a premium program
It takes some work, but you get your head wrapped around a premium program and how to market it. You decide it’s worth $3,997 for 12 weeks. You develop a sales script and personally offer it to your 30 prospects. 10% buy the program and your income (cash surge) is $11,991.
Your fixed expenses remain virtually the same. You have $333.00 per week to service each of these people. You have the resources to get real results with these people. You have strengthened your business.
Most people will immediately think of excuses. This won’t work for me because, and then the list of excuses starts.
Those thoughts are simply excuses to stay comfortably struggling. This plan has worked for me and it works for my VIP clients – and I can prove it!
