A Few Choice Words

Our past clients and members are a tremendous resource for us.

They know us. They understand our business. They spent money believing we were the best solution to help them achieve their goals.

For a variety of reasons, they moved on. Sometimes transitions like this are out of our control, such as when people relocate.

But there is a large group of people who left our business during the last year because of local mandates as a result of the pandemic.

People are slowly coming back. An interesting statistic, according to the Wall Street Journal, is that a greater percentage of people returning to the gym are unvaccinated versus those who have been vaccinated.

The unvaccinated seem to be more willing to take risks. The real point is that people are hesitant and need reassurance.

Here’s how to start the conversation. Send them a short one-sentence email with these words:

Hi <name>

How can I help you with your 2021 fitness goals?

Your name

Don’t add more to it. These people know you and your programs. They don’t need to be sold, just a reminder that you are there.

Some people will contact you in the short term and you can have a conversation. Others will wait until the time is right for them.

The point is that just hearing from you signals to them that you care and are there for them, when they are ready. Little actions like this separate you for the competition.

Remember, you only get results if you take immediate action on your ideas!
