On my way to my VIP client’s gym for Week #2 of the Marketing Make-Over, I stopped to get a quick meal.
After ordering my food, I asked the server if there was a local gym I could check out.
His response was, nothing in this area but if you go across town, about 3 miles, there are a couple of gyms.
As I left the restaurant, I looked to the left and could see the sign for a local gym.
Just to be certain I walked over to the gym, opened the door, and saw a substantial number of people finishing up their workout.
This is a pattern that I see frequently.
Marketing, at its roots, involves everything you do in your business, and everything you do impacts your marketing.
One of the easiest things you can do is make sure everyone in your neighborhood knows you exist.
Here’s what you can do today to improve your visability in the neighborhood, and it costs nothing.
Stop by a local business, ask for the owner and introduce yourself. Exchange your contact information and move on.
Spend no more that 10 minutes on this. Be sensitive to your interruption and schedule a time to get a cup of coffee if you mutually want to continue the conversation.
That’s it!
Then do the same thing the next day and the day after that.
Like a farmer, you are planting seeds that will grow.
Remember: You only get results if you take action on your ideas. Do it now!
