This morning one of my VIP clients asked about Black Friday options for his business.
I am not a fan of discounts in the fitness business for your primary line of revenue and have never discounted my primary programs.
Of course, this was exactly the opposite of what 95% of my competition was doing.
I’ll never forget the time one of my members came to me and complimented me for not discounting my programs. She went on to say, she would not feel appreciated if I was giving discounts to new members and not the current member. Good point!
However, a temporary discount outside our primary business is a different situation.
Take the gift certificate offering for instance.
There is no reason you can’t have a one-day, Black Friday ONLY, discount on your gift certificates.
Offering the special is easy since you already have the certificate and it brings attention to the program. And, it’s easy. If you don’t have a gift certificate yet, creating an old-fashioned one with an online option only takes a few minutes.
Just do it, you have nothing to lose.
