The Club Industry Executive Summit has wrapped up in Chicago.
Before I attack the seemingly endless list of things I want to get done, I want to get a quick and bief note out to you.
At our networking breakfast I was asked what my #1 take-a-way was from the conference.
There are so many, it’s hard to narrow it down, but one thing does jump out.
The fitness industry took a huge beating in the last two and one-half years.
While things are slowly returning to a new normal, it’s really clear that this change is slower than hoped for, and the new normal does not resemble the old normal.
One speaker summed it up:
In the fitness industry, we must prepare for the new abnormal.
The more I thought about this statement, the more it resonated with me.
Here is the good news. As we evolve into the new abnormal we have the opportunity to deconstruct what we did in the past and create a new future for our businesses.
What is now the new abnormal will become the new normal over the next two years. This will happen as a result of our intentional and deliberate efforts to create our new realities.
This is a rare opportunity we have never seen before and it requires new attitudes and new thinking. This is a really exciting time to have a fitness business.
The key is to see and understand the opportunity.
Failure to grasp the reality of the situation and the opportunity available now will only lead to more frustration and discouragement. Don’t get caught in that vicious cycle.
The first step is to do a quick assessment of where you are now and then another one of where you want to be at the end of next year.
The second step is to create a simple plan and then start with the first step.
If you would like to get a better idea of how you can double your sales in the next year, contact me in the PS below. Don’t hesitate because the next two months are CRITICAL to what happens next year.
Remember: You only get results if you take action on your ideas. Do it now!
