In business it makes all the difference.
It’s short. It’s concise. It creates emotion. It calls out to prospects. It gets attention. It inspires action.
Sometimes it’s called an elevator speech, a 30-second intro, or a value proposition.
Regardless of what it’s called, it’s the first impression a stranger gets about your business.
And as the saying goes, you don’t get a second chance to make a good first impression.
In today’s world life moves fast, and unlike a few decades ago, you have about 3 seconds to convey this message.
Let’s call it a 3 second intro, because that’s what it is.
Well done, a 3 second intro paves the path to a longer conversation, but only with qualified prospects. In fact, a well designed 3-second intro attracts your ideal customers and turns less than ideal customers away, saving you time and energy.
This is a big order for 3 seconds, but it’s done all the time across many different media platforms.
What is your 3-second intro?
Is it the same as it was pre-pandemic?
If so, you should consider tweaking it a bit. People are looking for health and fitness, just like they were back in 2019, but now they are concerned about some new wrinkles to fitness and health.
Here are a couple of examples in random order:
- They have gained weight during the pandemic and they are concerned about it.
- They have gotten used to working out at home and online.
- They are very concerned about improving their immunity.
- They are concerned about being in a safe environment.
Which of the items in the above list are most important to your ideal clients in your local market? How can you add them to your “intro?”
A couple of examples:
I help people become more fit, could be changed to I help people become more fit in a safe environment.
I help people become more fit could be changed to I help people improve their health and immunity.
The important thing is to know your ideal clients, and speak their language using the words most important to them.
