I may be the only person in the world who did not know the whole story of Captain America.
I’m not sure how I missed it.
I have seen a number of movies with Captain America, but I never knew his story from the beginning.
I watched the movie this weekend, and now I know.
You likely know the story but some scientists(?), using their secret technology, transformed a skinny kid into a well-developed man, a force to be reckoned with, and made him a soldier.
They gave him a costume, a name, and a platform and put him to work raising funds for the war effort.
He looked good, acted the part and did his assigned job well, and yet he was frustrated.
He wasn’t successful in living his dream. The soldiers he was sent to inspire were unimpressed at best and he had no real credibility with them
It can be the same in the fitness business. We can have a great facility, fantastic location, shiny equipment, spotless bathrooms, and yet we need more business to pay the bills.
We are going through the motions, but we are not living our dream.
Captain America, frustrated with his plight, made a bold decision. He took action!
The same happens in business, In order to get what we really need and want we need to take action. By the way, it’s the same in all businesses, not just the fitness business.
We need to transform into what we are intended to be, in our case business owners.
That is what you wanted, correct? A business owner is not held captive to the business.
If you have to be there day in and day out, it’s a job, not a business.
The journey to real ownership is not an easy one, nor is it particularly hard, but it does require action, first and foremost.
Captain America’s transformation occurred when he broke ranks, disobeyed orders and rescued 400 captured soldiers. This single action made him an instant hero.
Our transformation occurs when we embrace the reality of the situation we find ourselves in (we created it) and make a decision to do things differently and rescue our business from ourselves.
And the things we need to do differently are unknown to us, or we would have already done them, right?
The first step in knowing what to do is here.
Don’t be frustrated like Captain America was, do what Captain America did and take action today!
