On The 11th Day of Christmas

Where did the saying “handwriting on the wall” come from?

Impending misfortune seems to be what the dictionaries define as a general definition.

In my CrossFit gym we had a couple of handwritten sayings on the wall.

One was. “I will not injure myself today, so I can train tomorrow.” It wasn’t original, but I don’t know who to give credit to.

I used the sign on the wall a lot. when someone had bad technique or was doing something foolish and risking an injury, I would get their attention and point to the sign. They always smiled and made the necessary adjustment without my saying a word.

That’s the power of signage, as long as we only have a couple of signs on the wall. Too many signs gets confusing and work against you.

Today’s Challenge, #11 in our 12 Days of Christmas Business Challenge is to make a useful sign for your wall. It should convey some value or principle that is part of your culture.

That’s it for today.

Have fun.
