My morning coffee is really important.
Like most people, its become a ritual.
And it has also become a reminder for the day when I see the steam from the water.
Hot water is 211 degrees, but at 212 degrees steam is produced.
Hot water is great for coffee. Steam, however, will move a locomotive.
Water vs. steam is a great analogy for a business.
You can feel it when you walk through the doors. There is a huge difference between an ok business, and one that is “steaming.”
The steaming one gets our attention and draws us in, the energy is palpable.
It all starts with the owner, and is caught throughout the organization.
As we start the year, what is the temperature of your business?
Are you at the steam level?
If not, you certainly can be, in a very short time.
The key is to get around other people with a similar mindset.
The fitness industry is at a crossroads. More small business owners than not, are at a crossroads.
Some will explode regardless of what happens in the coming months. Others will close shop forever, and the majority will hang in there clinging to the belief that if they just last long enough, like a miracle, things will change.
