In my last email, I wrote about the characteristics of a high-performance team and drew an analogy to a three-legged stool.
If you missed it, you can catch up here
The second characteristic of a high-performance team is Edification, and it’s very powerful.
An outstanding team continually and consistently edifies each other and the organization in their words and actions, to each other, to the customers, and to the greater community.
For example, when it comes to team members, they must understand that when referring to another team member, it’s the company-wide culture to be positive and uplifting of the other members of the team.
Negative thoughts, ideas, and comments are not accepted. Being neutral is not acceptable. Each member must cast each other in a positive light at all times.
If any team member finds this uncomfortable, it’s time for a conversation behind closed doors to sort things out and get back on track.
Edification is critical. It’s a hard and fast rule for a high-performance team.
Edification can be likened to a giant set of arms surrounding the organization and giving it a huge hug. Customers feel the effect of this attitude and attach to the community. The feeling of security and confidence keeps them returning as customers.
Returning as customers keeps them achieving success and in turn further Edifies the organization.
Remember you get results if you take immediate action on your idea!
