Would You Be A Buffalo Or A Cow?

I love nature and the outdoors.

The natural world has so many lessons for us, if we are prepared to receive and learn, that is.

Ever see a herd of cows when a storm is coming? They huddle together for protection from the elements

Not the buffalo. They turn into the coming storm and head into it, oftentimes at a run.

Of course, no one knows exactly why, but it is surmised that the buffalo instinctively knows that running into the storm will get them out of the storm sooner and back to more pleasant conditions.

The small business world is full of challenges that confront us every day.

Financial challenges, facility challenges, personnel challenges, business growth challenges, and marketing challenges, just to name a few.

Very often we hesitate to face the challenge thinking we need to think it through, gather our thoughts, and make a plan. Sometimes we simply complain about it to anyone who will listen. All of this takes a lot of time and energy, and with rare exceptions, is totally unproductive.

In reality, we usually spend more more time worrying about the problem than the time it would take to actually address and solve the problem.

Next time a problem comes up, try this. Turn your energy around and head straight into the storm without hesitation.

For example, you suddenly find that you will have difficulty paying this month’s rent. Immediately call the landlord and set up a meeting to talk about your situation. Then take some time to plan your upcoming negotiations.

Taking immediate action is empowering. It builds confidence, which in turn helps you get through the situation quicker.

Whatever the coming business storm is, and we all have them, run straight into it and notice how much better you feel and how your confidence grew.

Then rinse and repeat, until it becomes habitual.

Want to continue the conversation? Schedule a time for us to talk. There is no cost to you and it will be a great investment of 30 minutes. I guarantee it!

Remember, you only get results when you take immediate action on your ideas.
