Can you believe we only have three weeks left in this year?
Three weeks from today is January 1st, 2024!
Last week, I wrote about a way to figure out what you must do to look back at this year and at the same time, set up your goals for next year.
In case you missed it, take a look here. Carve out five minutes and get this important task completed now.
Let’s go to Step #2. Ok?
For this exercise, we are going to make a massive assumption about your Stop category. That assumption is that we are completely stopping everything in our Stop category.
This is key as you will see below.
Now for the exciting next step.
Take your two remaining categories, the Continue and Start categories, and decide what the top three things you can do that will make everything else you are responsible for easier, or unnecessary.
Keep your list and your thinking limited to only three things. Got it?
Next, decide what the most important task is of the three options. Again, use thinking that this one most important thing, when accomplished, will make everything else you are responsible for easier or unnecessary.
That is your priority and your goal for the next year.
Now comes the final planning step.
Decide how much time you need to dedicate to this goal every week, and schedule that time in your calendar now. Right now, just like you do for your client’s appointments.
Now comes the Action step. Don’t miss any appointments with yourself!
I hear all the time how this client/customer/member stopped by and I got caught up in a long conversation.
The reality is that an interruption like that just costs you progress on your goal!
We let the interruption control our future. You will not be successful if you let that happen.
Use whatever tip, trick, or hack you can think of to protect your time! (A closed office door with a “do not disturb sign” on it can work wonders.)
I know from experience that what I am describing is not easy at all. I also know from experience that it is possible and the results are huge.

Remember, you only get results when you take immediate action on your ideas.
