The Australian Couple Touring The World On A Bicycle.

This has been a summer for meeting interesting people on the Erie Canal.

While making a water stop on the canal yesterday, I noticed a couple getting ready to depart on the next leg of their journey east.

(Cyclists on the canal prefer to go east to take advantage of the prevailing winds from the west.)

They were on a tandem bicycle. Like in the song, “on a bicycle built for two.”

They were friendly.

Most cyclists on tour are super friendly and it was natural to inquire about their journeys.

Their most memorable trip? Touring Japan on a bicycle.

Where have they ridden? All over the world.

Where are they headed? New York City, then Mexico, then flying home to Australia.

I noticed that between the two of them they were carrying less than I do when I am touring solo.

My final question was how do you travel so light.

They went on to explain how they used to pull a small bike trailer, but stopped that practice because they ended up with too much stuff!

I told them how much I admired that discipline.

As they rode away, I could not help but reflect on these life and business lessons:

*Dream Big – Yes, you can have a massive business.
*Pack light – In business this means focus only on the things that truly matter.
*Work as a team. A tandem bike is much faster and more efficient than a single person bike.

In business, put people on your team that will share the ride with you, and help pedal.

Keep the wind at your back. In business there are seasons to grow and the growing season for a fitness business is RIGHT NOW!

If I can be of help to you as you pedal toward your big dream, gathering momentum, then we should talk about your options.

If you’re ready to pick up speed with the wind at our backs, pick a time on my calendar to talk

Remember, you only get results when you take action on your ideas!
