Are You Recalibrated For The New Year

I am fortunate to have one more opportunity to spend some time with my family before everyone heads back home to normal.

Today, it’s a hike with my youngest daughter’s family.

Before we head out I want to share one last thought with you about goal setting and achievement for the new year.

This is truly where the rubber meets the road.

In just a couple of days, the new year will be here.

Did you crush it in 2023? Did you achieve everything that you set out to do a year ago?

If not, why not? A quick look back will give you all the answers, and likely resolve a sense of determination to get at it again.

It’s as though there is something in the air at this time of the year that gives us that surge of energy.

The real question is, how do we sustain this energy?

In most cases, we are adding something new to a schedule that is already very full. Discipline helps us cram something new into the day, but only for a short time.

The key is to eliminate things in our schedule, which in turn, gives us the time we need to chase our new goals.

The way to eliminate things in our schedule begins with making a list of things that have a lower value that we can stop doing, in exchange for time we can spend on doing things of a higher value.

It starts with a pen and a piece of paper. The task ends when you have a list of 5-6 things that are consuming your time which could be used to work on your new goals.

Most goals don’t require huge chunks of time, but rather small segments of time repeated over weeks and months.

Think in terms of 20-30 minutes a day, 5 days a week, for 50 weeks of the year.

Do this and you’ll crush your goals in 2024!

If you would like to talk about your situation, my time is yours for the asking. Get on my schedule for a free 30-minute conversation.

Remember, you only get results when you take immediate action on your ideas.
