One of the keys to success is to look sideways.
We look sideways at what other industries are doing that’s successful, and determine if we can apply the concept to our situation.
What better place to look sideways, than Amazon. They are certainly breaking the mold and being very successful in the process.
I forget exactly what I was looking for but a pop-up appeared and asked me if I wanted to see how an item would look in my house.
Well, that got my attention.
So, here’s how it works. You use your camera to take a picture of where you want to place the item in your house, and Amazon puts the item in that location on your camera screen. Want to change colors? It’s easy. Change the color as often as you want.
They call it augmented reality.
When we get a clear picture of what we really want, our buying decision is easy.
See what’s happening here? Amazon is creating augmented realities by placing the item in your house so you can see it clearly.
A good sales person creates an augmented reality with words and a conversation.
This is where sales training comes in. A good sales conversation should include more than just words, and good sales and closing skills.
It should include some visuals, Google reviews, pictures of client’s successes, testimonials and video testimonials for starters. Hone your presentation further by focusing on more things you can do to help your ideal clients see themselves successful, their augmented reality.
Do this and suddenly it’s not a sales question, but a buying decision, and while we all hate to be “sold”, we love to “buy.”
