Some districts start today and others will not start until after Labor Day.
While the start date may vary the opportunity is huge for everyone in the fitness space.
You will not see huge numbers similar to what we see on New Year’s Day, but what will happen in the next few weeks is far more valuable.
Human nature (for once) is on our side in a very subtle and real way.
Humans live by habits. This is the aspect of human nature on our side for the next few weeks.
As the school buses roll, families settle into habits, rituals, and routines for the rest of the school year. From now through the end of the year in May or June, depending on your school district’s calendar.
As families plan their calendars out, they inevitably think through other calendars, for example, where and when they will work out.
This is where we need to be “top of the mind.”
My experience has been that there will not be huge floods of new people similar to January, but rather a steady trickle of people coming through your doors for a good six weeks.
Most importantly, and this is very important, the people joining us in September are much more likely to show up and continue with us throughout the rest of the school year.
I used to tell my team that the September people, in contrast to the January people, needed lockers because they were in for the long haul.
However you market your services and whatever you do to attract new business, now is the time for you to take massive action.
