Do You Evaluate Your Team’s Soft Skills?

After almost a month in one location, I am about to start traveling again, westward.

One of the nice things about settling in one spot for the last month is that it’s somewhat easier to ride my bicycle.

I know the roads and traffic patterns which makes life on two wheels safer.

My friends say I am at my best on a bicycle and I tend to agree.

I don’t know where this attraction to bicycles started, but it’s been with me my entire life.

One of my brief jobs was testing new bicycles and it required that I ride all winter long, in snowy Upstate NY.

I didn’t mind the bitter cold at all. I just accepted that’s who I am.

Do you know yourself or your staff that well?

One of the critical pieces of putting a team together is to have the right people in the right seats on the bus. You’ve heard that expression before I am sure.

Soft skills are roughly 80% of a person’s success in any career. In short, soft skills determine how a person interfaces with others in various situations.

Matching a person’s soft skills to the job is often based on guess work or intuition.

The assessments can also be used for staff training and development. They provide a new level of understanding of ourselves and other people.

This is not to be confused with personality testing, but rather, it’s a behavioral assessment.
