Most high achievers at one time or another begin to doubt their intellect, skills, and or accomplishments.
Sometimes this doubt can be more than one of these things, or even a combination of all these things at once.
There is a name for it, Imposter Syndrome.
This self-doubt can be debilitating and even paralyzing.
It can stop you from achieving your goals.
Not because the goals are too lofty or aggressive, but rather because you stopped trying.
Giving up mentally before even trying is a surefire way to not accomplish the goal/objective.
Is there anyone in the fitness business world who couldn’t write a book based on what they have learned by coaching and helping people? I sincerely doubt it.
But they don’t write the book because of the internal talk in their head.
Who would want to read my book?
- I don’t have anything to say
- It would take too long
- I don’t have time
- It’s hard to write a book
- And the list goes on, and on, and on
This internal dialogue is complete rubbish. It’s your brain trash-talking your ideas! And when you listen to that garbage, Imposter Syndrome is alive and well.
Like I said before, it happens to almost all high achievers at one time or another.
The first step is to recognize it for what it is. Claim it. And then face the problem head-on with a plan.
I will talk more about strategies and tactics at another time.
But for now, if you have ever wanted to write a book and you just haven’t gotten to it. It’s most likely Imposter Syndrome.
I am here to tell you that you have a book in you.
Let’s get it out of you and into the world where it can do some good.
Your book can be on the shelf by the first of next year.
I am putting together a very small group of people for live training with the specific goal of taking your book from a thought to a finished product in people’s hands.
Our goal is to publish a book by year-end.
It’s normal to have doubts. I did. Then I published my first book. I was amazed at how seamless the process was.
Now, it feels good to hand it to someone. It speaks for me. It answers questions my prospects have. It inspires my team.
My only regret is that I wish I had published one earlier in my career.
Don’t make my mistake!
