I was telling one of my VIP clients the other day that I love doing a sales presentation. They looked back with a raised eyebrow, in disbelief.
Now mind you, it wasn’t always that way.
I used to dread a “sales call,” and doing the follow-up was the last thing on my want-to-do list.
Then I spent time in a direct sales organization. How I got talked into it is still a bit of a mystery to me.
But once in the door my competitive nature emerged and I became determined to build a big business and qualify to go on some of the free trips.
I spent quite a bit of time outside my comfort zone as I developed a new mindset.
Once you have a good marketing plan and a product you believe in, it all comes down to follow-up.
This is where most people/businesses lose it.
I’ve talked a lot about Colby Phillips, a recent graduate of the 6 Figure Trainers Program who is a great example.
I followed up for five years with Colby. He wasn’t ready and I was not going to push him.
When the pain in his life became almost unbearable, he reached out to me. And it was like we knew each other already.
I’ve field-tested a lot of gyms to see how they handle follow-ups and I can tell you this alone separates the mediocre gyms from the really good ones with full parking lots.
One of the ultra-successful major chains is very good at follow-throughs. I stopped counting the number of times they re-contacted me at about 30, but they kept calling, texting, and emailing me. They only stopped when I told them I moved out of the area. 🙂
This is marketing at its best!
But it’s only one part of marketing and running a successful fitness business.
In my upcoming Webinar, 3 Things All Fitness Professionals Must STOP Doing and One Thing They Must Start Doing NOW, I address the most critical of things to do and not to do, to begin the transformation of your business.
The Short Webinar is FREE and you can register here.
This may be exactly the information you need to move ahead fast.
