Did you ever watch a child in the driver’s seat of a safely parked car?
The first thing they do is try to turn the steering wheel.
It doesn’t really turn, but they keep trying.
The same applies to an adult. No amount of energy will result in steering a car in a different direction.
Add a slight bit of forward motion and there’s a different outcome.
So many businesses try to change the direction of their business, and for good reasons, especially now.
The key, as you have already guessed is to first establish momentum, then make the directional changes.
Momentum in business is our biggest asset and the best way to create immediate momentum is cash flow.
Once we have cash flow, and we have things rolling, then we can change direction and make wholesale and necessary changes. Even if it’s a tiny movement, we need momentum to change direction.
Does all of this seem confusing. It certainly can be, and it was for me before I clearly understood the concept.
In 2020 I hosted a webinar with Club Industry. Over 1400 people registered and the positive feedback was tremendous. The topic was about surviving the pandemic and the most significant part of the presentation was specific ways to create momentum in the fitness business.
If you missed it, no worries. I am doing another free webinar on this topic later this week.
Stay tuned for more details in a day or so.
In the meantime, what can you do to get the wheels turning, and generate some cash flow in your business?
One thing I would recommend, as we’ll talk more about it in the webinar, is to get a list of people together who used to be part of your business but are not with you now, for whatever reason.
Besides getting ready for the webinar, you’ll undoubtedly notice that this simple exercise is kind of exciting.
Stay tuned for more details on the webinar.
