We are halfway through the year and looking over our goals and plans for the rest of the year.
If we are on track, we are excited.
If we are behind schedule, which is very likely, then we are less than excited.
Enter Plan “B.”
Plan B looks good for a lot of reasons:
It’s easier (it looks easier)
It takes less time
I am more comfortable with this plan
It’s good enough
And the list goes on
The problem is two-fold. First, Plan A stays on the table until we take it off the table. In other words, Plan A is still possible until we decide differently. No one can take it off the table, except us.
Second, settling for Plan B, even if we are successful with the plan, leaves us with a hole in our psyche. Deep down we know we settled for less, and that pattern, if repeated, becomes a bad habit.
Screw Plan “B!”
Hang on to Plan A right through the year.
It’s far better to miss Plan A, going down fighting, than to succeed in Plan B!
Your future you will thank you!
Remember, you only get results when you take action on your ideas!
