I stopped to get gas yesterday at a major chain of stops.
I decided on this place because of its reputation, cleanliness, efficiency and the fact that it had fresh food.
Riding a motorcycle long distance requires being hyper vigilant about everything, starting with food and nutrition. I studied the menu and ordered a fresh salad with added protein.
When I opened the salad, I was horrified!
There were French Fries on top of my healthy salad. What??
How could I have missed that?
A quick look at the receipt revealed that the fries were an item in the salad. Cleverly, they were not spelled the usual way, fries, and I didn’t recognize them in my focus on the healthy part of the salad.
The truth of the matter is that I like fries. If they are in front of me, I find them somewhat irresistible. My solution is to not put them in front of me in the first place. Remove the temptation. It’s what we tell our clients and what we practice.
I do not appreciate being manipulated like this. I think this chain of restaurants is irresponsible at best.

(About those fries, of course I ate a few of them. But I threw most away. I will not be fooled like this again.)
