Time to Party!

One of my high school milestone reunions was scheduled to happen in 2020.

The pandemic caused a reschedule for 2021. However, New York State was still opening up slowly, the reunion was rescheduled again for 2022.

The State has accelerated the opening faster than the planning committee could anticipate, and there is now no reason why the reunion could not happen this summer.

Unfortunately, the decision was made earlier in the year and there is inadequate time for travelers to make all the necessary travel arrangements, so 2022 remains the year of the official reunion.

With the changes in restrictions, people’s attitudes and comfort levels have also changed, quite rapidly.

Today I got a notice that enough people in my class still want to get together, and an unofficial gathering will be held this summer. In fact, there will be two events, and from the registration pages, both look to be well attended.

People want and need to get back to a more normal life of gatherings and human connection.

The same is happening in the fitness world.

Is it time for a big “welcome back” party in the fall?

I counsel my clients to have a big event like this, and I encourage you to have one also.

You may have to work around any variances in your local rules and guidelines, but that should be pretty easy to do.

If you don’t have an event, you might risk losing people who desperately want a gathering, to one of your competitors.

Now is the time to decide and plan. My advice is to go big, really big, and grow your market share fast.
