What Did Your Kindergarten Teacher Teach You?

I seldom eat breakfast until later in the morning.

Today was different.

A high school friend invited a very small group of us to his house for an early breakfast.

All of us have a rich history together.

Almost unheard of today, all of us traveled the school years together from Kindergarten through high school graduation.

And we had pictures to prove it.

It’s still a mystery to everyone, especially me, as to why I was crying the day I “graduated” from kindergarten.

I would like to think it was tears of joy, but my face does not look happy. 🙂

What is not a mystery is the history we all have together.

As we talk about growing up, stories remind each of us of events and activities that truly shaped our lives and the lives of our friends.

I find it fascinating how a kind and encouraging word from a teacher or a coach is still with us years later and vividly comes to life accompanied with smiles and laughter across our breakfast table.

And of course some stories we never live down.

This is life!

In the fitness world I am afraid we often overlook the impact we have on people.

We are the teachers and coaches for our clients and customers.

They are no simply buying a product off the shelf.

They are having an experience with us, as they chase their goals and dreams.

Call it what you will, mentors, coaches, consultants, or teachers. But at every major success and turning point of my life, one of these people have been there with me and I became the next version of me.

I encourage you to seek out people that bring out the best in you.

If you think I might be such a person for you, set up a time to meet and we’ll talk about it.

We’ll start by talking about what kind of story you want your clients and customers to tell about you someday.

If I am a good fit, you will know it and we can move in any direction you choose.

The choice is up to you.

I am always reminded of the proverbial question, when was the best time to plant a tree? The answer is, twenty years ago, or today.

Remember, you only get results when you take action on your ideas!
