You have undoubtedly felt the change in weather in the last few days. The entire country has cooled down and the autumn season is truly here now.
The football season, one of the traditions of Fall, is in full swing.
All serious fans are keeping up with the scores and each team is creating stories, based on victories and disappointments, which will be talked about for years.
We never know the outcome until the fourth quarter is completed.
The fourth quarter is where the upsets occur but it’s in the third quarter we find out which team slacks off.
In business, we never know how the year will end until the fourth quarter is over, and our fourth quarter is the final three months of the fiscal year.
Our fourth quarter is right now.
Never underestimate the power of the fourth quarter.
Human nature is such that people are most productive when up against a deadline.
Only action creates progress toward goals.
Action is easier when up against a deadline.
Dust off those lofty goals from the first of the year (It seems like yesterday, doesn’t it?), and if you are on track, ask how much you can surpass that goal.
If you’re not on track, ask yourself what you can do to still make the goal happen.
If all seems hopeless for this year, don’t put it off for next year. Instead connect with someone who can give you a perspective, and hear them out.
Perhaps your goal really is too much for this final quarter, but that would be an exception. It’s more likely that you can still achieve that goal, but you likely need some perspective and help.
I just might be that person you can get a perspective from.
