On The 10th Day of Christmas

In college my Areas and Facilities class was something I was not looking forward to.

Since it was a class typically reserved for Seniors, I reasoned that I could endure it because I was so close to graduation.

You’ve undoubtedly heard that Fear, is False Evidence Appearing Real.

That was exactly the case with this class. The instructor was awesome, the content interesting and engaging.

I thoroughly enjoyed the exact experience that I dreaded.

What does that have to do with today’s challenge, you may wonder?

Well, the most important lesson of that class is today’s challenge.

Challenge #10 for the 12 Days of Christmas Business Challenge is to update your restrooms.

I am not talking about a wholesale make-over, but something much smaller. (If you need a wholesale make-over schedule it ASAP, especially before the New Year.)

For now, do something to make a difference in the appearance of the restroom. New Shower curtains, updated products, a thorough cleaning of the fixtures, cleaning the mirrors, or something similar.

People will notice this change. Don’t expect them to thank you, but know with 100% certainty that they appreciate it.

The most important lesson I learned from that class in college still rings true to this day. Restroom cleanliness is the most important aspect of any facility management plan. Anyone want to guess what number 2 is? Send me a quick email. The first correct answer gets a $25 Starbucks gift card.

That’s it for today.

Have fun.
