What’s Your “Why?”

I am very fortunate to have spent a fair amount of time with very successful people.

Most, but not all of them came from some version of a business background.

I spent a lot of time listening to them.

Since a majority were clients of mine, I would get little gems or pearls of wisdom from them during their workouts.

One common theme leaped out at me continually.

They all believed in knowing your “why” was a key to success in any endeavor.

Interestingly, with a few notable exceptions, our education system is based on teaching “how” rather than “why.”

Seems backwards, according to successful people when they talk about what made them successful.

Last week I took you through a 12 Days of Christmas Fitness Business Challenge.

All of the challenges are posted, starting here. if you haven’t had a chance to compete them, you can start any time.

To make more sense of this week’s email, at least read through them. Then this email and the emails for the rest of the week will make more sense.

All of the challenges were about what to do to build your business.

Admittedly, the most important consideration was left out – the why.

We’re going to explore that in more detail this week.

The profound simplicity of a strong “why” can be difficult to grasp. Sometimes it makes more sense to start with a “how” and work backwards.

In the case of the 12 Days of Christmas Challenge, they are all simple tasks. Combined together, they are profoundly powerful when completed. Similar to a challenging workout.

Completing “how” tasks, can build belief and in turn strengthen the why. It’s kind of a back door approach and it really works.

That’s the power of the 12 Days of Christmas Challenge. Complete the task, feel your confidence grow, feel your attitude strengthen and in turn your “why” gets stronger than ever.

You know that you know, that you know, that you know you’re on your way. That attitude of confidence and belief makes all the difference in the world.

This is one of the pillars of success for my clients at 6 Figure Trainers.

More to follow tomorrow.
