I was shopping yesterday for a unique tool.
Like most tools, I won’t use it often, but when I need it, it will save me a ton of time and money.
Truth be known, I don’t like spending money in situations like this, but I needed the tool.
As it turned out I found exactly what I was looking for, but there was only one in the store, and this is a high volume store with lots of product churn and things disappear off the shelf quickly.
Because it was the only one, I got it as a demo model at 33% off!
Timing is everything!
Yesterday, I wrote about how important timing is right now in the fitness business at this time of the year.
My recommendation to all of my clients, and I’m sharing it with you right now, is to have some event or activity in your fitness business on New Years Day. If you didn’t have a chance to read it, go here.
Call it an open house, a free trial or a special workout. It doesn’t matter what you call it, just make it exciting for the participants.
Here’s a couple of ways to make it really stand out:
- Get your members excited about the event and use them to help you promote it.
- Encourage your members to bring their friends and family.
- Structure your workout so it is a small team workout of 2-4 people.
- Carefully plan the workout to include all skill levels and promote this as part of your marketing efforts.
- Plan a brief social after the workout to keep the event fun and memorable.
- Take lots of pictures and post them in the afternoon at the latest.
Remember to have a way to capture names and contact information so you can follow up with people.
