Moving Fast and Breaking Things

“Move fast and break things,” is a very well-know phrase in the internet world credited as Mark Zuckerberg’s motto for his people at Facebook.

He would be very proud of me today.

I trashed my website and to make matters worse, the backup I thought I had does not exist.

I am not a happy Camper. My morning was destroyed.

I have only one real option. Start over and learn new stuff – fast!

Sound familiar? I know it does.

Move Fast and Break Things sends a message and helps create the culture at Facebook.

There is great wisdom for the small business owner here, especially business that works with people.

First, Move Fast represents momentum. You probably know that I’ve written about this before, but it’s worth repeating. Momentum is your biggest asset in business.

Move Fast takes momentum to a new level. A level that just doesn’t happen because of outside circumstances, but a level of energy we create by taking action, immediate and quick action.

The second part, Break Something creates an amazing visual. Something being broken is no longer an unfortunate mistake, but rather something to be celebrated. It took me a long time to get on board with this one, because from a young age, something being broken usually led to bad consequences for me.

But that came from the outside world. the inside world, the world of entrepreneur success, see broken thinking as a necessary, evolutionary step forward toward our dreams.

Well, we’re over that! 🙂

Do you have that sinking feeling that things are broken around you? Or better yet, you tried something and it broke?

If so, it’s time to celebrate because you are on track for a major breakthrough.

Want to pick up the pace toward your goal? Move faster and Break more stuff!

I love to be in the presence of other’s moving fast-forward.

I would love to hear what you broke.

Remember, you only get results if you take immediate action on your ideas!
