Richard Branson On Building A Team

Has there ever been a more important time to have a strong team in business?

Nope!!

Has there ever been a more challenging time to build a strong team?

Nope.

To say the least, these two challenges together, at the same time, require some creative thinking.

In business there is so much we can learn from other successful people. In fact, formal education pales in comparison to the value of learning from someone who has been there and done that.

Richard Branson has an impressive track record of building ultra-successful businesses and the ability to build a team is, of course, the cornerstone of his business and personal success!

In a 2014 Tweet, he summarized his approach to building a team in a few simple words:

Train people well enough so they can leave.

Treat them well enough so they don’t want to.

The first line is a challenge to many supervisors. Understandably so. Yet it’s the foundation of growth and isn’t that what we are all seeking?

When we have trained people well enough so they can leave, they have the skills necessary to take our place, and that’s our ultimate goal. What holds us back is experience and attitude.

Changing our attitude requires work and a support system.

Changing attitudes and getting experience is the focus of the 6-Figure Trainers Mastermind group. People in a Mastermind group grow rapidly because they can take advantage of each other’s experience. The Mastermind is a force multiplier.

Remember you get results if you take immediate action on your idea!
