They Lied To Me To Get More Business

A couple of months ago there was a factory recall for a part on my motorcycle.

During the appointment, the service writer informed me that the mechanic discovered my rear brake pads were 95% worn. Then they asked if I wanted them to replace the pads.

I almost said yes.

I am not a mechanic, but I do like tinkering on my vehicles and I wanted to see the wear with my own eyes. I decided to do the work myself at a later date.

In the meantime, life happened and I kept putting the job off, and I limited my usage of the bike knowing that the pads needed replacement, or so I thought.

Yesterday, I got all my tools together and pulled the brake pads off only to see that they are not even 50% worn!

Suddenly, I realized I had been lied to in an effort to sell me something that I didn’t need at all.

I had avoided riding the bike when it was completely safe, I had purchased replacement parts, and spent valuable time gathering tools and preparing for the job. All a waste of time.

And it happens to many people – every day!

No wonder we are suspicious and jaded when it comes to sales people. No wonder sales has such a negative connotation!

This attitude is what we are up against in the small business world, every day.

No wonder our prospects come to us full of suspicion and doubt.

Our job is to hone our sales presentations to overcome the resistance people naturally have to being sold.

We need to guide people in their buying decisions and forget selling to them. We need to study our craft, understand exactly what we do and be able to articulate it in a conversation that engages and empowers the buyer.

No one wants to be sold and everyone wants to buy.

The best way to get this attitude, training, and skillset is to be around a group of similar-minded people, and the 6 Figure Mastermind group may be a great option for you.

To see if you qualify to be part of this group, use the PS below and schedule a 30-minute conversation where I can go over the details with you. Then you will have all the information to make an informed decision.

Remember you get results if you take immediate action on your idea!
