The Number 1 Way To Kill A Dream

I am on the road traveling so this is going to be short and to the point.

My 3,500-mile adventure consisting of riding the Continental Divide Trail on a motorcycle is behind me.

As I spend hours driving east to visit family I have a lot of ideal time to reflect on the last 6 weeks.

Here is perhaps the most profound takeaway:

If I had known before the trip what it was going to be like, I never would have gone on the trip!

Now, keep in mind that this was a huge adventure for me and I loved (almost) every minute of it. I am so glad I did it and I have no regrets.

But, again, if I knew what the problems were going to be on the trail, I never would have left the safety of my comfort zone.

Despite my best efforts to prepare, looking back I realize I was under-prepared in so many ways.

Ignorance is bliss, as the saying goes. Now I look back with appreciation and fondness on all aspects of the adventure, including the accidental dumping of a 600-pound motorcycle in the mud, more than once.

The correlation in business is uncanny.

We have lofty goals. We prepare as best we can. We execute and the unexpected happens, and we suddenly feel like we are gut-punched with the unexpected.

Here’s where we make a tough decision. Going back to the comfort zone appears so inviting.

Hopefully, you have burned your bridges, and going back is not an option.

While you are in pain at this point, you will figure it out.

You will seek wisdom, you will press on, and you are certain to be victorious, despite how many more times the unexpected happens.

You need to have a dream and a goal so real that it inspires you to keep going.

Never let the problem, imaginary or real, get in front of the plan. Simply keep going!

After 14 days of facing the challenges as they came up, I was negotiating mud and sand with relative ease.

The same happens to everyone who pushes fear back and simply keeps going, and going, and going!

If you would like to talk about your business’s future and how to explode your business now, get on my calendar and let’s talk. It’s free to you.

Remember, you only get results when you take immediate action on your ideas.
