Dolly Parton’s Most Successful Album Ever

I was at a private event some years ago and was fortunate to be seated about 30 feet from Dolly Parton as she performed.

Like her or not, you have to admit this woman is a powerhouse.

She just released her most successful album ever, at the ripe young age of 78!

With this release, she set a new record for herself by more than doubling the release numbers from her previous best from over 30 years ago.

As a reader of these emails, you undoubtedly know I admire how people like Dolly are redefining aging in this country. It’s remarkable, to say the least.

Two things jump out at me right away and they are things we need to pay attention to in our fitness world.

Aging entertainers, business people, and public figures are redefining how people age and what they are capable of in their golden years.

In turn, they inspire others to follow in their path.

For the fitness business owner, it’s a vastly under-tapped market, which represents a huge opportunity for us.

We need to closely look at our programming and if we do not have programs for this population, we need to add them ASAP!

Second and most important we need to look carefully at entertainers like Dolly and the Stones ( I wrote about them earlier) and study in great detail what makes them so successful.

It’s easy to make the excuse that they are already successful and success will come easier to them, but nothing could be further from the truth!

Dolly is very talented and that cannot be disputed. But with her recent release, she jumped into a completely new genre, again, at 78 years of age. Would you have bet on her success? Me, either!

Besides her talent, she did something actually more significant than talent, and it’s something we can all do.

Prior to the release of the album destined to send her to new heights in album sales, she launched a campaign, specifically a marketing campaign.

Yup, a marketing campaign to promote her “to be released” album and they embarked on the campaign a year before the album’s release. She created a marketing plan to execute the huge series of events and activities, the likes of which her team had never seen or done before.

That, my friends, is why this album was her most successful release ever. I am not taking anything away from her talent, but talent alone will die a slow death if no one knows about it.

What huge success is your business? Market, market, market your services and business like never before.

Your business will set records in the next 12 months, in direct proportion to how well you market those programs.
