Everyone’s inbox is inundated on Black Friday with all kinds of deals and opportunities from all kinds of companies. It can be overwhelming, to say the least.
Sometimes I think, why bother? Just wait for a quieter time to send out this email in hopes that it will get a better response rate.
I have actually experimented with that technique and found, to my disappointment, that my open rate did not improve at all following this plan.
I reminded myself that lots of companies make the lion’s share of their sales in the last month of the year. Why not me?
Then things changed for the better.
I once offered a holiday promotion for the month of December and I marketed it intensely.
Crickets!
Seriously, nothing was happening.
The promotion ended on Christmas Day and I almost decided against implementing the last email of my marketing, scheduled to go out on Christmas Eve.
Reluctantly (remember I was new at this stuff back then) I sent the email out at noon on Christmas Eve.
Boom!!
Sales started coming in. I had hit a nerve. People were looking for that perfect last-minute gift and my email was the perfect solution for them.
The moral of this story is to create and implement an aggressive marketing plan for your business in the month of December. Don’t miss anything, especially those last minute emails.
Compete with all the other businesses out there, confidently knowing you have one of the best opportunities for people to improve the quality of their lives.
