It’s how High You Bounce!

Sometimes someone says something so simple, and yet so profound, it stays with us forever.

On one such occasion I was meeting with one of my mentors and was describing, at his request, a very challenging problem I was working through.

As I finished my story, he simply looked at me and said, “It’s not how hard you hit bottom, it’s how high you bounce.”

Profound!

Fitness businesses took a hit in 2020. Some worse than others. Some hit bottom and went out of business. Others flourished.

I hope you flourished, but the majority are on the other end of the continuum and are still struggling.

The opportunity is that people, especially those who lost their previous gym, are looking for fitness business that they can trust. They are willing to pay a little more money for the right opportunity. Some people are ready right now, and some will be ready in the very near future.

The first step is to do an inventory of your marketing. Here are the questions you need to be brutally honest about:

  1. Is your marketing bringing you new clients? How many each week?
  2. How much are you spending vs. how much money is coming in?
  3. Are you attracting your ideal clients?
  4. How much do your prospects know about your business before they visit your business? (online or in-person).

You answers will give you a starting point for your next steps.
