We lost generator power last night, equivalent to a power outage when you’re on the grid.
Since my office is currently in the desert, I am on my own for challenges like this.
Let me circle back a bit. I really like my mobile lifestyle.
It allows me to work in some very interesting places. And it gives me the freedom to visit my clients at their locations.
It took some time to get my fitness to support this change, but that’s a story for another time.
I admit, losing generator power is stressful, especially because it happens all at once.
But once again preparation is the key. I use the word redundancy for this.
In business if we have one marketing strategy, let’s use online marketing for example, we are at the mercy of the online world.
Remember when Facebook shut down for several hours a few months ago. Some businesses lost millions of dollars of revenue because they had nothing else in place.
Let’s combine all our social media and internet marketing into one channel, online. For successful businesses, online really is only one channel.
What happens if the internet is down. (Not uncommon, especially in more rural communities.)
What happens if Google blocks you for some reason?
Redundancy is the answer. We need more than one marketing channel.
Before you think of this as old school, consider the amount of snail mail you still get. Companies do that because it pays well.
In fact, many of the more traditional marketing channels cost little to nothing. A huge contrast to internet marketing.
As you look to 2022, and get your plans in place, take a good look at your marketing plans. Are they bullet proof? If not, now is the time to re-think them.
My redundancy for electrical power, and my generator woes, is the sun and right now the Arizona sun is charging up my batteries just fine. Life is good!
Want to talk to someone about redundancy in your business systems? Someone who has been there, done that, and got control of their fitness business?
Give me a call, perhaps I can help.
