I attended a seminar yesterday, and the presenter was excellent.
He had many nuggets of great information but the one thing that jumped out at me was the statement, “Someday you won’t be able to. Don’t be that person who someday says, I could have, I should have or I would have.”
Sound advice for everyone, especially the small business owner.
As owners of small businesses, there is a lot we must do. Most of it falls in the urgent category..
We also have important things that need to be done to move the business forward and move us closer to our goals.
Unfortunately, the important is seldom urgent so it often gets little attention.
Working on a marketing program to bring more members in the next year, takes second place to the member who just needs an unexpected minute of your time.
It’s not a good idea to ignore the member, in fact it’s a very bad idea. However, it’s also a bad idea to not get the important things done.
Figuring out how to balance these seemingly contradictory needs is the key to never looking back with regrets.
The best place to start is with your daily calendar. Take small steps as you build new habits.
Never underestimate the impact of small daily habits on the path to greatness.
The best time to get your calendar together for the week is over the weekend, for me it’s Sunday night at the latest.
The best time to “think big” is over the weekend.
Think big and start chasing your goals in little steps and you’ll look back someday with a satisfied been there and done that.
Remember, you only get results if you take immediate action on your ideas!
