This story goes back a few years and I am still reaping the benefits of what happened.
I had just mastered turning around yet another struggling business and I was looking for my next challenge,
One thing lead to another and I was fortunate to be invited to join a high-end Mastermind Group.
We met weekly for accountability sessions and everyone was in a career transition looking for their next challenge.
Two weeks into our meetings I announced that I had made a quality decision and I was declaring myself “unemployable.”
I went on to describe that I was sick and tired of turning other people’s businesses around. It was time to do my own thing.
I negotiated an accountability strategy with the group. Instead of reporting back how many interviews I had in the past week, I would report back how many cold calls I had made to my target market of high-end CEOs in our local market. I committed to 100 calls a week, for 12 weeks. Keep in mind I did not know any of the prospects on my list.
While it’s a fascinating story with many critical points, after staying on track for 10 weeks and making 1000 calls, I had enough business to claim a victory. Or so I thought.
The group had different ideas. They reminded me I agreed to 1200 calls, not 1000, regardless of my success. They took my water bottle hostage and told me I would get it back when I did what I said I would do.
Boom! Suddenly that water bottle was critically important to me. What happened next changed my life.
Our success in any endeavor depends on several factors, but nothing compares to being part of a group of like-minded people.
Iron sharpens iron.
I am passionate about the power of a Mastermind group. I have lived it as a member of the group and as a facilitator. In both cases, I have stories and examples of life-changing breakthroughs as a result of participation in a Mastermind group.

Because of those last 200 calls, I went from making 50k a year to 93k a year, working just 20 hours a week, in just a few months. Multiply that over a couple of decades and you can begin to feel the impact.
The money was fantastic. The time in my schedule was awesome. The best part was the confidence I gained in the process.
This was the birth of the 6 Figure Trainer’s program that I teach today, and our Mastermind group is part of everything we do.
I’ve opened the group up to 2 more people. As you can imagine this is a special group and only for serious players.
