What Is Your End Of The Month Habitual Routine

Seriously, it’s the end of the month already and we are 5 months into the year?!

In what will seem like a flash, we will be halfway through the year and halfway toward our goals.

Everywhere you look, the country and the world are coming out of the pandemic, and the fitness industry is no exception.

I have been writing a lot about the critical importance of routines and now is the perfect time to take a look at a critical routine.

What do you do at the end of the month, every month, as a routine habit?

Successful business owners set new goals specific for the month ahead.

Two things are critical when looking to the month ahead, knowing where you stand and visualizing where you will be at the end of the next month.

Two related things stand out, financial tracking and sales.

All businesses track their finances on a monthly basis, and most get their financial reports around the middle of the next month. This is way too late. By then it’s history, a look backwards. Imagine driving your car and steering by looking out the rearview mirror.

We need our financial accounting much earlier. The reality is that some of the transactions have still not been processed for a few days into the month. Fortunately, we have less of this now than in a decade ago.

We need these numbers sooner, like the third or fourth business day of the month. If all the transactions are not categorized and tallied, simply ask the bookkeeper for a trial balance by the third business day of the month.

Even more importantly, set a goal for the next month. Not several goals, but one goal. Figure out what the most important goal is and focus on that one.

Don’t create a goal for the outcome, but instead create a goal for the effort needed to create the outcome.

Would a conversation regarding effort vs. outcome be helpful to you, right now?

This is the best time to plan your success for the second half of the year.

Remember, you only get results when you take immediate action on your ideas.
