I was talking to my son over the weekend who lives and works in Istanbul and travels the world in his spare time.
It was easy to see from our conversation that other parts of the world see the coronavirus very differently than we do in this country.
At the same time, I had a couple of people unsubscribe from this list after my last email. Coincidence or not?
The unknown makes this a very controversial subject to write about. In fact, I have not seen any other email or blogs on this topic to date.
The business that takes the time to develop contingent strategies and plans will stand a much better chance of surviving, and even thriving if things so sideways in their community.
Last week I outlined step #1 in your plan to handle this situation. You can catch up here.
Here is step #2
- In addition to the CDC and WHO, become familiar with your state, county, and local government’s management plans for the coronavirus. You’ll notice how they are all just now starting to take this potential threat seriously. You may have to do a few different Google searches but you will find the information. Remember everything is evolving rapidly.
- Sign up for notifications and updates on the coroanavirus from reputable sources wherever possible.
- Send out a general email to your members letting them know you are in contact with reputable organizations and you are constantly and closely monitoring the situation. You will let them know as quickly as you can if something comes up.
Step #2 is about your leadership and positioning yourself as someone your people can count on.

More to come, stay tuned.
