Route 66

In its day Route 66 was an institution.

People traveled the famous route across the country in both directions. While parts of the road and roadside attractions still remain, the road has been replaced by modern, efficient, fast-moving expressways.

Gone are the businesses along the route with great marketing to serve the traveler’s needs.

The end of an era, but not so for savvy businesses and the State of Missouri is one of them. The Rest Area outside of Springfield, Missouri has used the Route 66 theme to create a very attractive Rest area.

It’s uniqueness brings people to the area and that always has a positive impact on the economy.

Every business, however new, has a culture, a history, things that make it unique.
Shrewd business owners put their culture on display.
It brings a sense of belonging to their tribe and the history contributes to a sense of stability and uniqueness.
If you don’t already have your culture on display, start today. If nothing else, post a picture of your opening day. Notice how it generates interest and questions.
If what makes you unique is already on display, add something new to it every couple of months and keep it fresh.
These are the little things that help build your business’s lasting foundation.

Have fun!

Remember, you only get results if you take immediate action on your ideas!
