Maximum Productivity, Part 2

In short, growing a business fast is the result of daily efforts focused on the desired goal.

Yesterday I wrote about the first step in the process which is to have a clearly articulated goal, with a deadline, that you are dedicated to. The dedication is a commitment to the goal, specifically a commitment to do the work to achieve the goal.

If you missed yesterday’s email, you can read it here.

The best goals are recorded in writing. This is critically important. Many successful achievers will put their goal on a 3×5 that they carry with them. Still others add an audio or even better, a video recording of their goals which they refer to several times during the day.

All of these steps are designed to keep us on track. One of the main reasons people do not achieve their goals is becoming distracted by a lesser, and oftentimes, easier goal.

Getting your goal down in writing and in your head is only Step #1.

More importantly, we have to take the goal and break it down. For instance, let’s assume you want to grow your business by 25% in the next year. How much is that each month for 12 months? Or better yet. How much is it each week for 50 weeks? I like 50 weeks because it allows you to take a vacation without worrying about being able to take a vacation.

Want a month off? No worries divide your goal by 11 instead of 12 and you have built in a month’s vacation.

Back to our example. To grow a business by 25% in 11 months, you need to grow sales by 2% per month. A 2% growth compounded over 11 months gets the job done.

Now you have a goal for the month that makes sense. Your current sales, plus 2% is the pattern you need to follow.

Further break down the month into weeks. This becomes much easier if you plug in your numbers, using either sales or members, whichever makes more sense in your situation.

Now that we have the week’s goal, what does that mean for each day?

Get your numbers together and we’ll go to the next step tomorrow when we dive deeper into this plan for your explosive growth.

The steps outlined here should take less than 10 minutes. Don’t skip them, because they are critically important.

Remember, you only get results when you take immediate action on your ideas.
