One common theme in every business I turned around and grew was that it was hard work.
Doing things differently and building new habits, especially success habits, seems difficult at first.
There are countless challenges requiring lots of energy, especially mental challenges.
We can get lost in the shuffle of life.
Some years ago, my team and I were making HUGE changes that would ultimately lead to a business transformation of the highest degree. For the first time in 15 years, the business was financially solvent.
But in the thick of the battle, we were faced with discouragement and setbacks.
Enter the Good Report.
Out of frustration, I created a new ritual. Every Friday my team had to create a special report outlining three good things that happened during the past week.
You can imagine how adding more tasks to their already overworked schedules was received.
Yet, we persevered and soon the good report was a new habit.
At the end of the day, it was about being thankful and grateful. This, at its core, is an auto-suggestion to our mind, an affirmation.
We were affirming the good things, and celebrating each other’s victories, and guess what?
Our progress toward our goals became quicker and quicker. It started with the small steps and grew quickly.
The lesson was powerful and it has become one of the critical things I teach my VIP clients.

Before the weekend starts, take out a sheet of paper and write out a good report for yourself for the last week.
