Here Is Your 5-Minute Week-End Challenge

I was recently staying in a small town I knew very little about.

What caught my eye was a community center that had all kinds of information about the town which had historical significance.

As it turned out the Center was really more of a museum. It had all the information I was looking for.

I planned to be in the area for a few weeks and I was interested in what the community had to offer in terms of grocery stores, gas stations, and the like.

I noticed exactly what I was looking for in the corner of the center. What I found was a rack of brochures and business cards from the local establishments.

It didn’t take long to find what I was looking for, a place to work out.

I searched the cards and brochures and there was nothing about any gyms or fitness areas.

As I started walking out of the Center, I noticed a gym right across the street. I am still puzzled at the lack of information readily available where people look for information.

One of the keys to attracting people to a fitness business is to be visible. Ideally, you want to be visible everywhere.

Whether it’s a business card bulletin board or a brochure at a local library, We need to be seen – everywhere.

And frankly, it’s so easy to do and it requires more awareness than effort. Simply carry your business card and a simple brochure, if you have one, in your car.

As you go about life, post the card or brochure everywhere you see the opportunity. In some cases, you might want to ask permission, but it’s quite easy to determine where that is advisable.

Not having something for me to look at in the Center’s “community” listings sections, left me with a less than favorable feeling about the gym. Seriously, they were right across the street.

Some would call this grassroots marketing. It should not be your primary marketing strategy, but it can certainly be a useful and productive addition to your marketing efforts.

It’s the little things that make a BIG difference.
